ANN HELEN SCHERBANUIK March 1, 1922 - October 6, 2012 Ann (Chuback) Scherbanuik peacefully joined her Lord on Saturday, October 6, 2012. Ann was born in the Cudworth district to Jean (Symak) and Peter Chuback on March 1, 1922. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Gloria (John) Pryma, Margaret Martens, Deb (Tim) Malasky; grandchildren, Michelle (Kim) Gallucci, Pattie (Zoltan Kovacs), Cindy (Frank) Downes, Crystal (Christopher) Lavis, Nannette (Dwayne) Friesen, Melissa (Torey) Agarand, Jon-Michel Martens, Kathryn (Rob) Chambers, Erin (Scott) Palmier, Linsey (Cary) Wiedman, Kristyn Malasky, Lauren Higginbotham, and 16 great grandchildren. Ann is also survived by her sisters, Alice Pawluk, Jean Kowalenko, Johanna Bidulka, Gloria (John) Mescaniuk, Elizabeth (Bud) Bohrson; brothers, Stan (Lois) Chuback, Morris (Judy) Chuback; sister in law, Alice Chuback; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Mike; son Julius; great grandson Andrew Kuntz; parents Jean and Peter Chuback; her siblings Mary Burachinski, Michelena Stus, Mike Chuback, Stella Turta, Pat Kondra, infant sister Rose; son in law Gary Martens; numerous brothers in law, nieces and nephews. Mom worked for the Mid- Western Broom Co. for many years and after her retirement she lovingly baby sat with several children. She also made cabbage rolls and perogies for the McLeods' Lunch Counter. Mom loved gardening, playing cards and entertaining family and friends. Her love for her family was unconditional, her work ethic second to none. Mom and Dad farmed at Alvena and Cudworth. They lived in several different areas in Saskatoon. When Dad passed, Mom moved to St. Voldydmyr Villa, where she resided for 13 years. For the past three years she lived at Sherbrooke Community Centre. Mom was 'Baba' to everyone at the home. The family wishes to thank the staff of Sherbrooke Community Centre for their loving care. Services to Celebrate Mom's Life will be: Prayers at Park Funeral Chapel, 311 - 3 Avenue North, on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.; the Divine Liturgy at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 10 Street and Munroe Avenue, on Friday, October 12, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 1405 Faulkner Crescent, Saskatoon, SK, S7L 3R5 or any charity of your choice.
