STANG, Arthur Joseph
Arthur was born on September 10th, 1938, in Macklin, Sk., the fourth youngest child of Joseph and Clara Stang. On October 8th, 1966, Arthur married Maureen Rolheiser at St. Donatus Church, Cosine, Sk.
In 1968 Arthur and Maureen built their home in Macklin. In the 45 years they lived there they put down roots of faith, family and friends. Arthur's love for woodworking would continue to enhance the home he built. His second great love was the outdoors, and he spent countless hours in his yard, front and back, adding features including the dream playhouse, a hill, a patio, flower and vegetable gardens, arbors, and a front deck where he loved to sit on summer evenings. He was always modifying, adding and moving trees, shrubs, and the grandchildren's favourite, water features. Arthur loved nature, and he gained such pleasure feeding birds and wild deer in his backyard. During his retirement years, Arthur turned his garage into a living space where he could watch his beloved Blue Jays or entertain friends and family, especially on Bunnock weekend.
Arthur passed away unexpectedly in his home during the early hours of January 13th with his wife by his side.
Left to cherish his memory his girls: his wife of 46 years, Maureen, and daughters Annette, Norma, Raelene, and Cheryl. Missing him deeply and carrying on his legacy, his boys: Les Beyak , Tom Saretsky, Jeff Kenney, and Shayne Shepherd. Treasuring every memory, his grandchildren: Dylan, Tyson, and Michael Beyak; Nathan and Jenna Lee Saretsky; Brady, Spencer, and Arthur Kenney; and Ella- Sophia Shepherd.
Arthur is also survived by his siblings: Victoria, Frank (Magdalen), Joe (Beatrice), Mike (Isabella), Dorothy, Tom (Cecile), Larry (Frances), Jeanette (Leonard), Rolheiser In- laws: Edwin (Anne), Leona, Wendelin, Mark Stang (Rita), George, Fred, Elizabeth, Ken (Linda), Agnes (Angus), Ron, Beatrice (Cliff Adelman), Patrica Hertz, Lucy (Che Lee), Pius (Patti), numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Welcoming him into heaven are his daughter Mary, granddaughter, Janea Saretsky and his brother Robert who passed away just hours before him. Arthur was also predeceased by his parents and other family members.
"O Little Therese of the Child Jesus, please pick for me a rose from the heavenly gardens and send it to my family as a message of love."
