SCHINDLER, Bernice
September 28, 1926 – August 20, 2012
Aged 85 years, was born in Kamsack, to parents Bill and Martha Cotter (nee Armstrong). She attended elementary school in Kamsack and high school at Sacred Heart Academy in Regina. After grade school, she attended Success Business College in Regina and then worked as an office and dental assistant for her brother Wilf's dental offices in Saskatoon and later Kamsack. Bernice married Dan Schindler in 1950 in Kamsack, where together they raised three children Bernice and Dan retired to Madge Lake and wintered in Mesa, AZ. for many years where they experienced many good memories with family and friends. Bernice will always be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, sister and friend who always put others first and treated everyone with compassion and kindness. Bernice was active in her community, with a long term involvement in the Legion, hospital auxiliary and C.W.L. She was an avid curler and golfer, where she regularly golfed at Madge Lake and Mesa, AZ. Bernice also was an accomplished cook and very skilled at everything she undertook, including; knitting, sewing, needlepoint, quilting and many other crafts. She loved spending time with family and friends most of all. Her thoughtfulness, humour, and ability to listen to others will be deeply and forever missed. Bernice is survived by her loving husband, Dan; one daughter; Leanne (Kevin) Lang, two sons; Rod (Judy), Kim (Lucy) and by four grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents and one brother Wilf. Mass of Christian Burial was held August 24, 2012 from St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church, Kamsack, with Fr. Brian Meredith officiating. Interment followed at the Riverview Cemetery, Kamsack. Friends, who so desire, may make memorial donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 3rd Ave N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8.
