Caroline Zelizney (nee Lansdowne family Markham) February 21, 1957 March 10, 2010 It is with heavy hearts that we must share the news of the passing of a wonderful wife, daughter, sister and a extraordinary friend to many. Caroline is lovingly remembered by her husband, Dennis Zelizney; father, James R. Caroline was so excited at becoming a grandmother to Ethan born in May/2009 to Brent and Kathie, she would talk about spoiling him all the time, she would have been so good at it. Caroline was predeceased by her mother, June Markham on April 6, 1970. Caroline was born in Toronto on February 21, 1957 and moved with her family in 1965 to Saskatoon. Caroline attended U of S obtaining a Bachelor of Arts and Education Degrees and a Master's degree specializing in Guidance & Counselling. I am so sorry to hear of Caroline's passing. I met Caroline through a mutual friend over 25 years ago. Our paths didn't cross that often, but she would chat with me when she came to my workplace at the STF. She was always friendly and cheerful, happy and smiling, laughing and joking and always fun to be around. I will surely miss her and her visits to the office. I also know that she was the happiest ever since she met her husband. Her eyes and face would light up when she talked about Dennis. Thanks for bringing joy and fulfillment to her life. My deepest condolences to her family.

and we shared many great conversations.

I will always remember Caroline and the friendship we shared. We always greeted eachother with a special sign followed with a "whoa". When sitting with her in meetings, if I was not careful, I would often find my shoe laces were quickly untied. I will miss her.

If I can say something on behalf of my family, Caroline has always been held close to our hearts. She helped me understand Autism, and my family get support and help with my sister. To her family and friends we are thinking of you. Caroline has been a teacher, inspiration, and friend. She will be greatly missed.

Caroline was a counsellor at two of the schools I worked at. She was a very passionate and genuine individual.
I will never forget how her personality would light up a room, and how she touched the lives of so many children and colleagues.
The strategies she used to students who needed extra care and attention, such as pet therapy with her beloved dog, established her compassion and dedication.
I will miss being called a "cool cat." each time she saw me, and her "Chao," salutation each time we parted.

I remember a very funny, vibrant, amazing Caroline Markham from my Ackland days back in the late 70's -early 80's. The Caroline I remember was so fun and easy to be around. A person you just don't forget. Please accept my apologies if I am mistaken. Sincerely Cheryl Meyers (nee Blumer)

This morning as I read the obituarys I came across a familiar name and undeniable familiar face of a very special person I once knew. I hope I am mistaken but I believe I worked at Acklands with Caroline in the late 70's /early 80's. I have many memories of the Caroline that I knew. She was so easy to be with and so much fun.
I won't forget her any time soon. I pray for comfort to her family and many other friends.
Sincerely Cheryl Meyers (nee) Blumer

Dennis, I was saddened as I heard of your dear loss. I know your family will give you that strong support and attention that you so dearly need. As it is not natural to lose a loved one, family is what is needed to lean on, during this difficult time. Take care my friend.

It really was an honour having Caroline in our family. I will never forget the first time I met Caroline - we 'clicked' immediately. My Uncle Dennis was so proud to be able to introduce Caroline to all of us, and for good reason – she was a wonderful woman and touched the lives of so many around her.

I know that Caroline made a direct impact on everyone she met – and having worked with so many children and families in Saskatoon; I know that her positive energy and spirit will live on in the influence of others. Even in passing, I believe Caroline will keep giving.

May you rest in peace Caroline – you will be (and are) missed.

I was shocked to hear that Caroline had passed away, as I did not know that she was ill. I worked with Caroline for over 15 years. She was an amazing support to many students and staff. I remember fondly all the crazy, fun times we had working together. She loved all her "kidlets" as she referred to them. Her legacy will live in my heart and many others. My condolences to her family.

Caroline was a beautiful person who loved helping others. I will always cherish my memories of Caroline, particularly her wacky sense of humour and love of life. I will miss you Caroline.

Dennis, our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. It has been such a short journey for you and Caroline,
and it seems so tragic to end so soon. You would light up when you would tell us about her when you first met, and we were so happy for you. Caroline's warmth and beautiful smile was infectious to everyone around her. You will miss her, but she will not be suffering now. Your memories of great times together will be your strength in the days to come. Please know we are with you in our thoughts and prayers.
Our love
