December 5, 1940 - December 19, 2012
It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing our Mother and Baba on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 after a brief battle with cancer. Delores was predeceased by her husband, Patrick in 1969 leaving three small children to raise on her own. Mom owned her own hair salon for many years and wanting more time with her children, took a job with the Scotia Bank at Westgate Plaza. After leaving the bank, Mom worked part-time for OK Economy and also became a foster parent for over fifteen years, taking in many children. Her last foster child, a baby girl, become so close to her heart, she decided to adopt her and call her one of her own. She named her Sarah. After retiring, Mom spent many hours in her garden and was a true artist with her flower beds. Mom was very active with the Church and was a member of the Quilting Angels at St. Patrick's Parish, meeting every Tuesday to quilt and have tea with the ladies. Mom was the youngest of eight children. She leaves behind her siblings, Bill, Eva (Len), Kathy (Tom), Ted and Donald. She was predeceased by her brother, Nick and sister, Mary. Mom leaves behind her four children and their families, Tamara (Lawrence) Easton, Theresa (Jim) George, James (Donna) McGrath, and Sarah McGrath; Grandchildren, Caylin, Josh, Ben, Khloe, Micheal, Mikayla, and Noah. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the staff at RUH and staff at St. Paul's Palliative Care Unit for the special care you gave our Mother at the end. The Vigil for Delores will be held on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Park Funeral Chapel, 311 Third Avenue North. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 24, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 3339 Centennial Drive, Saskatoon with Celebrant Rev. Fr. Kevin McGee.
