It is with sadness that the family announces that the death of Donald Arnold occurred at Stensrude Lodge on Wednesday, September 18th 2013 at 82 years of age. Don is survived by his loving wife Sophie (nee) Fidyk of 54 years, his brother-in-law Andy (Daria) Fidyk, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother Reta Daratha and her husband Ignatz, his grandparents Bill and Sarah Arnold, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Harry and Katherine Fidyk as well as brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Christina (Ed) Barker and Martin (Maisie) Fidyk. Don was born on July 11th 1930 in Kelfield SK. He grew up and took his early schooling here prior to moving to Saskatoon. He started work with the Saskatchewan Liquor Board and later with Canadian Linen prior to starting his career with the City of Saskatoon Parks and Recreation Department where he worked until his retirement. Don was a great curler and he like to watch most sports. He and Sophie enjoyed traveling on holidays and made a number of trips to the west coast. Don will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife and family as well as by his special family pet Benji the dog. Funeral Services will take place on Monday, September 23rd 2013 at 1:00 pm at Saskatoon Funeral Home followed by a reception at the Edwards Family Centre prior to interment at Woodlawn Cemetery.
