Doris Williamson
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Doris Williamson on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the Saskatoon Convalescent Home. Doris was born April 16, 1925 in Carievale, SK and grew up in North Portal and Estevan. She moved with her parents to Saskatoon where she met the love of her life Jim Williamson. They were married in 1949 and together raised two daughters. Doris and Jim loved to socialize and go dancing with their many dear friends. They travelled all over the world on many wonderful vacations and spent many summers at Waskesiu Lake with the family and Radium Hotsprings. Doris worked at the Income Tax Office, Mayfair Church, then at Kelsey Institute. Music was always a big part of her life and she had a beautiful singing voice and loved to play the piano. She was the Junior Choir leader at Mayfair United Church and also sang with the Kingsters and at many weddings. She often entertained the staff and residents at the Convalescent Home with her singing and could still play a few notes on the piano even though her eyesight had failed. Family and friends were the most important to Doris and we will all miss her daily phone calls. She enriched our lives with love and laughter and made sure we never wanted for anything. Our memories of her will always be cherished. She will be very sadly missed by her daughters Anne Andrews (Cliff), Lois Koback (Mark), grandchildren Bryan, Ryan (Sarah), Reagan (John), Leah and Catherine; great-grandchildren Abigale, Hannah and Sophia. A private family graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery on Friday, December 14, 2012 with a memorial reception at 2:00 p.m. for friends and family at the W.A. Edwards Family Centre (333 4th Ave. N, parking available across the street at the Saskatoon Funeral Home) In lieu of flowers donations in Doris' memory may be made to the Saskatoon Convalescent Home. We wish to thank the Saskatoon Convalescent Home and Keedwell Assisted Living for their wonderful; care and kindness and Sandra Busby for her loyal companionship and friendship to mom. Condolences may be emailed to Arrangements are entrusted to the SASKATOON FUNERAL HOME
