Douglas Warren Carson passed away on March 2nd, 2013 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. Doug was born in Wilkie, and spent most of his life in Saskatoon. He was employed with the City of Saskatoon. He married Thelma (Walker) in 1947 and was predeceased by her in 1986. Doug is survived by his three sons; David Carson of Regina; Bruce (Stella) Carson, grandchildren Erin and Jordan of Edmonton; and Dick (Joann) Carson, grandchildren, Dennis, Andrew and Amber, and great grandson Brayden of Saskatoon. Doug was remarried to Helen Wrigley in 1987. He was predeceased by her in December 2012. He is also survived by her step family, elder son Douglas (Susan) Wrigley of Strathmore, AB; twin grandsons Christopher (Shannon) Wrigley and great grandson Chace Wrigley of Calgary, AB; Sean (Natasha) Wrigley and great granddaughter Kaydence Wrigley of Strathmore, AB; her daughter Janet (Wayne) Peddie of Nanaimo, BC; her granddaughter Megan (Curtis) Baker of Victoria, BC; her former daughter-in-law Lois (Darrell) Prokopetz of Candle Lake, SK, as well as many other extended family. Doug was also predeceased by his brother Morley Carson, mother Bertie Carson, and step son Victor Wrigley. Doug will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed supporting his children and grandchildren by attending their many sporting and other events. He has left those who knew him with fond memories of his gentleness and sense of humor. Many thanks to the staff of the Veteran's Village at Sherbrooke. In keeping with Doug's wishes, there will be a private family service. "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."
