EWING, Edward (Ted) Patrick Alexander
It is with deep sadness the family announces the death of our son and brother, Ted, September 25, in Saskatoon, at the age of 44. Ted was born in Saskatoon, June 3, 1968 to Leila and Cecil Ewing. He was predeceased by his father Dr. Cecil Ewing in 2006. Ted is survived by his mother Leila and sisters Claire Miller of Saskatoon, Julie Ewing (Bruce Simms) of Saskatoon and Cathleen (Grant) Clarke of Yellowknife; niece Megan (Trevor) Gerwing and their children, Dawson, Miller and Parker; nieces and nephews Logan, Veronica and Vanessa Clarke, Rory Ewing and Ewan Simms. He attended elementary school in Saskatoon, St. John's-Ravenscourt in Winnipeg and graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelors of Arts with honours. It was during his high school years that he discovered his talent for acting and languages. After graduation he travelled and worked teaching English in many parts of the world - Montreal, New York, Brussels, Brno, Seoul and Frankfurt. It was in Frankfurt where he resided for the last twelve years teaching business English. Ted was a very capable and respected instructor. He was a voracious reader of many genres and thus was knowledgeable about current affairs, history, philosophy, religion and music. He spoke fluent German and French, and some Czech and Spanish. He was a tireless learner earning certificates and designations in finance and language instruction. A gathering to remember Ted will be held at the Faculty (University) Club, University of Saskatchewan, on Sunday, September 30, at 11:00 AM. Lunch will be served and guests will have an opportunity to share their memories of Ted. For those who wish, donations in Ted's memory may be made to the University of Saskatchewan. Arrangements are entrusted to MARTENS WARMAN FUNERAL HOME (934-4888).
