FRANZ, Edward Frank
At Bluewater Health in the presence of family and friends, our beloved brother peacefully passed away on Monday, September 24, 2012 at the age of 64. Dearly loved brother of Donna Denowski (Harold Zemlak) and Karen (Jim) Morgan and father to sons Rich and Brian. Loving uncle to David Denowski, Doris and Lindsay Morgan, Sharon (David) Short; and great-uncle to Kyle and Austin Gilchrist. Also survived by his dearest friend and confidant Terry (Loretta) Latham. Predeceased by his parents Walter and Doris Franz. Edward received his schooling to become an electrician at age 19 at Palliser Campus at S.I.A.S.T., Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Upon completion of his apprenticeship he decided to spread his wings and moved to Timmins, Ontario to begin his career. He settled in Sarnia over 40 years ago, and loved the city and was glad to call it his home. Edward served as a member of the IBEW Local 530 and proudly received his 40 year watch in recognition of his many years of service. Edward's family meant the whole world to him. He possessed a genuine love for nature as was evident by the pride he took in his yard and the beauty of his flowers. Edward also very much enjoyed the beauty of the park that surrounded him. He will be sadly missed by all those who loved him. Our family wishes to express gratitude to Sandy Ferguson for the compassionate care and understanding she gave to our brother during his time of illness. A funeral service was held for Ed at McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME in Sarnia Ontario on Friday, September 28th 2012 with The Ven. Rev. Dr. Gordon Simmons officiating. Interment took place at Lakeview Cemetery in Sarnia Ontario. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to VHA Home HealthCare, c/o 111 Heritage Rd., Suite 103, Chatham, ON N7M 5W7 or to Harmony for Youth, 251 Campbell St., Sarnia, ON N7T 8A8. Messages of condolence and memories may be left at www.mckenzieblundy.com. A memorial service for family and friends will be held in Saskatoon, SK at a later date. A tree will be planted in memory of Edward Franz in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest. Dedication service Sunday, September 15th, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area.
