1918 - 2012
Edythe Marie Kireliuk (nee Hamilton) formerly of Viscount, Theodore and Yorkton, passed away quietly on May 4, 2012 at Extendicare-Preston in Saskatoon where she had resided since 2008.
Edythe was born on January 9, 1918 to John and Beatrice Hamilton on the farm at Viscount. She attended the Viscount Consolidated School and later went to the Regina Normal School . After graduating she taught school at Pinkham-Ormiston, Colonsay-Justice, Ruddell, Elfros, FoamLake- Wynyard School Unit, Theodore and Yorkton. Her teaching duties lasted 35 years and she was noted for her dedication, ingenuity and leadership and the implementation of innovative teaching methods. Her professional and community activities were numerous including 4-H Sewing leader, President of the Yorkton Teachers Association, the IODE and the Order of the Eastern Star. She also enjoyed hosting many events at her home as well as entertaining friends, family and colleagues.
Edythe married Matt Kireliuk of Foam Lake in October 1948. They made their homes in Theodore, Yorkton and later Saskatoon. Edythe and Matt travelled to many parts of North America, British Isles, Europe, Japan, Hong Kong and Malaysia.
Edythe was predeceased by: her husband Matt Kireliuk in 2010, her parents John and Beatrice Hamilton, sister Verna and husband Gordon Hall, sister Eileen and husband Monte Klein, brother-in-law Albert Thoen, brother- in-law Bill Kireliuk, sister-in-law Mary Kireliuk, sister-in-law Elsie Jarman and brother-in-law John Jarman. Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are: sister Iona Thoen, sister Ruth Thoen and husband Norman Thoen, sister in law Elfrieda Kireliuk, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of Edythe's life will take place at the Saskatoon Funeral Home(338 4th ave N, Saskatoon, SK) on Tuesday, May 8th at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
