Esther was born in Humboldt, SK to Hugo and Marjorie (Dale) Engele. She started her schooling in Carmel, SK and in 1955 moved with her family to Watrous. After graduating from Winston High School she was a telephone operator with SaskTel and worked at CFQC T.V. in Saskatoon. Esther married Alex Munro, her high school sweetheart on September 3, 1962 and their children Tracy Dawn and Ryan Alexander were born in Watrous. Upon moving to Regina Esther worked for the Regina Leader Post and later with Alex operated their family business Butcher Boy Meats which is now operated by their daughter and son-in-law Tracy and Dave. They returned to Manitou Beach and built and Esther operated West Wind Bed and Breakfast for fifteen years, selling it in 2005 and Esther began her well-deserved retirement. She was predeceased by her parents Hugo and Marjorie Engele; parents-in-law Wilbur and Irene Munro and brother-in-law Gary Isherwood. Cherishing her memory are her husband Alex, daughter and son-in-law Tracy and Dave and son Ryan. Esther is also survived by her family Larry (Marg) Engele, Duane (Katie) Engele, Janet (Mac) Laird, Donna (Larry) Dewey, Jean Isherwood, Gordon (Susan) Engele, and by Alex's family Ralph (Barbara Ann) Munro, Reg (Bernie) Munro, Shirley (Lyle) Kelly and many nieces and nephews. The Mass of the Christian Burial will be held in St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Watrous, Saskatchewan on Monday, September 10th at 2:00 p.m. Interment in Watrous Cemetery. For those so wishing, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Paul's Hospital Foundation Attn. I.C.U. would be appreciated.
