LINSLEY (LAVENDER), EVELYN IONA
The Guest Book is expired.
The family of Mrs. Evelyn Linsley aged 70 years of Saskatoon, sadly announces her sudden passing on Sunday, August 18, 2013. Ev will always be loved and remembered by her husband of 51 years, Bill; by her children, Todd and partner Meghan (Ryan and wife Tara), Tim and wife Kerry (Andrew and Matthew), Terry Kreutzwieser and husband Ken (Noah, Madeline and Mya), Troy and wife Marie (Nathaniel and Samuel). Ev is also survived by brother Jim Lavender and wife Sandy, and sister Darleen Woods and husband Ron. Ev was predeceased by her parents, Elwin and Iona Lavender. Ev was born September 29, 1942 in Moose Jaw, SK and grew up on the family farm near Dahinda SK. Traveling to and from the one-room schoolhouse by horse and buggy, she would often arrive home to help make meals for the hired men working in the fields. Ev always wanted to be a nurse just like her mom but those plans changed when she met Bill at a family wedding. It was love at first sight and they were married on August 1, 1962 in Moose Jaw SK. Children soon followed (her 4 T's). Mom always considered being a wife, mother and grandmother her most rewarding jobs. She will always be remembered for her cooking, crafting, home decorating, unusual spelling, her love and support of music, time at her special place at the lake with Dad, family celebrations, and always being there when someone needed her. A Memory Service will be held at McClure United Church (4025 Taylor Street East, Saskatoon) on Thursday, August 22 at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Ron McConnell and Debra Berg officiating. In lieu of flowers, Ev's wish was for donations to be made to the McClure United Church Music Fund. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Saskatoon Funeral Home (306-244-5577).
