WEIR, Dr. Glenn Keith
Dr. Glenn Keith Weir passed away in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Friday, August 24, 2012 at the age of 86 years.
Glenn will be sadly missed by his daughter, Bobbi Weir-Tinson; and his son, Doug Weir and his wife Debbie; six grandchildren, Alex, Jane and Alistair Weir-Tinson, Kent Weir, Michelle and her husband Aaron Gervais and Lauren Weir; one great granddaughter Blakely Gervais; two brothers, Walt Weir and his wife Hazel and Malcolm Weir and his wife Ingrid, and his special companion, Pat Skinner.
The Funeral Service for Glenn was conducted from the Stockade Convention Centre, Lloydminster, on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Canon Michael Stonhouse officiating.
The Eulogy was given by Doug Weir, Bobbi Weir-Tinson and the Grandchildren, Lauren Weir and Alistair Tinson.
The solo "Until Then" was sung by Elaine Allen.
The hymns sung were "Battle Hymn Of The Republic", "When The Saints Go Marching In", and "Just A Closer Walk With Thee" accompanied by organist Irene Knowlson.
The Grace United Church Choir was also in attendance.
The recessional "Scotland The Brave" was played by bag piper Bill Cornfoot.
The Honorary Pallbearers were Bill and Gene Till, Les and Joan Ellis, Don Purser, Gladys Jack, and Pat Skinner, along with all special friends and everyone whose life Glenn has touched.
The Active Pallbearers were Geordie Ellison, Greg Zinter, Robert Ellis, Alistair Tinson, Aaron Gervais, and Adam Creech.
Interment was held in the Lloydminster City Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Dr. Glenn Weir may be made to the Big Brothers and Big Sisters, L. A. B. I. S., Or a charity of the donors choice.
McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements
