McLELLAND _ Mr. Gordon Ellison McLelland passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on September 29, 2003 in Saskatoon, SK. Dad was born in Saskatoon on December 29, 1917 and moved to Moose Jaw district with his family where he lived most of his life. He married Mom in 1941 and they took up residence in Moose Jaw where Dad worked for Robin Hood and then the C.P. Railway. In 1942 he joined the Airforce and was stationed in St. Thomas, ON and Saskatoon. In 1945 Dad and Mom came back to Moose Jaw and he continued to work for the Railway until his retirement in 1978. Dad enjoyed farming with his brother for many years. In the 80's, Dad and Mom enjoyed their winters in Arizona. Dad and Mom moved to Saskatoon in 2000 to be near Barb. He was fortunate to be able to pass away in the Whitecap Crescent Care Home where he has lived the last 2 years. We thank the staff for their wonderful care. Dad was a member of First Baptist Church, Moose Jaw. Dad was predeceased by his parents; his daughter, Pat; his granddaughter, Judy; brother, Ken; and brother-in-law, Ralph. Dad is survived by his wife, Peggy (married 62 years); his son, Bill (Linda) of Kimberley, BC; and his daughter, Barb (Keith) Rousell of Asquith, SK; four granddaughters, Sherri (Greg) Thompson of Lethbridge, Traci (Joe) Illes of Kimberley, Angie (Barry) Glas of Hayes, AB, Vicki (Perry) Quittenbaum of Asquith; nine greatgrandchildren; his sister, Irene Jevne of Westaskiwin; and sister-in-law, Peggy of Moose Jaw. Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church, 1010 main St. N., Moose Jaw on Saturday, October 4, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. Pastor Steven MacCuaig will officiated. Interment will have taken place at the family plot, Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday evening 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home. Memorials for the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund would be appreciated. In living memory of Gordon, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
