GREGORY GORDON EMPEY
(1957-2013)
It is with very deep and great sadness that we announce the very sudden passing of Greg, beloved husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. He is loved and remembered by his wife, Susan Elizabeth White, father, Harold Empey, sister, Judy (George) King, their children Dalas (Sara), Ethan and Liam, Sarah and Kathryn, brother, Mitch (Corrine) Empey, their children Morgan (Alyssa) and Cassidy, children and grandchildren, son Andrew (Paula), Zachary and Annika, son Dennis (Racheal), Keisha, Caleb and Brooklyn, son Russell (Erin), step-daughter, Shannon Allman (Jeff), Lizzie, Jordie, Kyle, Adam, Aidan and Hannah, and also aunts, uncles and cousins. Greg was predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth Empey in 2012. Greg was a person who loved music from his very soul, and playing his piano for hours at a time brought pleasure to many. He was an avid member of the Scale Modelers Association of Saskatoon and his planes are displayed in the Legions and Museums across Saskatchewan and Canada to remember the people who flew them. He was current sitting Vice President of the Rosthern Lions Club. He also spent many years practicing the art of Tae Kwon Do. His love for history showed in his library of many books. His sharp and witty sense of humor kept us all on our toes. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his dearest friends and family as he was a truly special man. Greg worked as the shipping coordinator for Supreme Steel Ltd. of Saskatoon and we know they will be lost without him as we are. The Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 23rd at St. Odilion Roman Catholic Church, 3004 Saskatchewan St., Rosthern, SK, officiated by Rev. Jordan Cantwell (United Church). Memorial donations may be made to the Rosthern Lion's Club, Box 702, Rosthern, SK S0K 3R0. The funds will be presented to the new Rosthern Hospital foundation in honor of Greg. Arrangements are in care of Funk's Funeral Home, Rosthern, SK, (306-232-5425, www.funksfuneralhome.ca)
