Ila Adolf May 30, 1920 July 31, 2010 Ila Adolf passed away peacefully on July 31, 2010 at Sherbrooke Kinsmen Village at the age of 90 years. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday August 17, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th St., turn right before railway crossing) with Reverend David Kim-Cragg officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Ila is survived by her four sons, Larry (Myrna), Brandon, MB, Les (Sue), Calgary, AB, Cliff (Dolly), Saskatoon, SK. and Dale (Donna) Saskatoon, SK; two sisters, Gwen (Al) Savage, Grenfel, SK, Faye Balt, Salmon Arm, BC; one brother, Edger (Ruth) Swallow, Grenfel, SK; nine grandchildren, Kurtis, David, Karrie (Jeff), Darcie, Janelle, Chet (Tanya), Renee (Jason), Taya and Alysa; two great grandsons, Cameron & Dominic; and daughter-in-law, Verna, Winnipeg, MB; two sister-in-laws, Norma Swallow, Calgary, AB and Marg Swallow, Victoria, BC; brother-in-law, Ellwin Parson, Grenfel, SK. Ila was predeceased by her husband, Edwin (2008); her parents, Cyril and Esther Swallow; her sisters, Olive, Ida, Lillian; her brothers, Jack, Cyril, Blake, Fred and Richard. Ila was born on May 30, 1920 in Windthorst, SK. She met Edwin Adolf and they were married in 1947 and moved to Bissett, MB where their four sons were born. In 1965 the family moved to Saskatoon. Ila enjoyed many years of bowling and curling and was devoted to writing letters to her ten brothers & sisters. Her highlight of the day was to see her sons and families. Ila moved to Sherbrooke Kinsmen Village in 2007 to be together with her husband at which time they celebrated 60 years of marriage. The family would like to thank the Sherbrooke Kinsmen Village staff for their excellent care given to our mother. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Ila may be directed to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 2H8.
