It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Irene Morgan at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon. Irene was born on the family farm east of Dundurn. One of seven children, she worked hard on the farm, especially after her father was injured. She worked as a housekeeper, a store clerk in Dundurn and delivered the rural mail for several years. She married Ryrie Morgan and lived and raised their family in Dundurn. They moved to a condo in Saskatoon in 1999 where they became an integral part of their Heritage View condo community. Irene was such an important member of her immediate and extended families. She had many friends that became part of her family and their lives, like ours, were enriched by being in her life. She loved visiting, dancing, music, the Blue Jays, playing cards and games with her family and friends, and talking on the phone. Her laughter, straight talking, hugs and kisses, and oh yeah, the baking, will by missed by everyone. Irene is survived by her husband Ryrie, her daughter Shari (Glen) Prime, grandsons Curtis and Christopher (Joie) Prime, great-grandchildren Phoebe and Christoeffe, all of Saskatoon; daughter Patricia (Brian) Johnson, granddaughter Breanne Johnson of Regina, and grandson Kale Johnson of Saskatoon. She is further survived by her sisters, Velva Summerfeldt, Vivian Bonli and Marilyn (Clarence) Rye and brother Warren (Pat) Booker, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Mike and Amanda (Skaros) Booker, her sister Maurine Summerfeldt, and brother Marvin Booker. The family thanks LutherCare Communities Home Help Services, Tammy Parks, June and especially Bernie Richard, who brought such comfort and support to Mom and Dad over the past few months. Thank you to Amy and her staff at Better Living PCH for the special care during Mom's brief time that she lived with you. It was so wonderful that they could remain together. Thank you also to the doctors and nurses at St. Paul's for their care and comfort. Mom said the nurses did such a wonderful job. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Irene's memory. The Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the Dundurn United Church. Interment to follow at Dundurn Hillside Cemetery. Arrangements in care of John Schachtel - MOURNING GLORY FUNERAL SERVICES, 306-978-5200.
