May 28, 1921 - July 26, 2012
It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of John Alexson on July 26, 2012 at Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon. John will be remembered by his loving and attentive wife of 38 years Melvina; step-sons Robert (Heather), James "Tim" (Minako), and Thomas "Tom" ; grandchildren Katie, Michael and Josh; sisters Pauline, Ella, Anne, Stella, Jenny and Molenda; sister-in-law Colleen and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. John was predeceased by his parents Fred and Hilda; sister Mary and brother Alex; brothers- in-law Fred, Oscar, Edward and Elmer. John was born May 28, 1921 in Hazel Dell, SK. He served overseas with the Royal Canadian Engineers for five years and had a lot of tales to share with all who knew him. After returning John farmed at Quill Lake until his retirement in 1980. John had an eye and taste for cooking. He had a great love for music and as soon as he heard a polka tune his twinkle toes lifted him up to the dance floor. John always stayed young at heart even after his body gave out. Our three sons are very grateful to have had John in their lives as a terrific Dad. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th Street, first right past Briargate Rd). Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may send online condolences from the website Arrangements entrusted to Megan Kasper.
