John Isaac Daniels passed away peacefully at Oliver Lodge in Saskatoon on Friday, February 17, 2017 at the age of 84. John was born in Clavet, Saskatchewan on August 21, 1932. He is survived by Son Bob (Jane), Grandchildren Megan, Erin and Kelsey Daniels, Son Dan (Wyn), Grandchildren Jessica and Zach Daniels, brother Rudy (Edith) and Stepbrothers Gunther Claassen (Betty), and Reinhart Claassen and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. John was predeceased by his wife Donna (married for 60 years), brother Paul Daniels and stepbrother Wally Claassen. John loved baseball and played for the Optimists Ball Club in his younger years. He met his high school sweetheart, Donna and they were married August 20, 1955. John graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a degree in Agricultural Engineering in 1955. After one year in Ottawa, they moved back to Saskatoon where Bob was born and Dan a few years later. They bought a lot at Turtle Lake in 1966 and built a cabin where they spent every summer weekend for many years. A few years later they bought a small farm near the cabin and spent many wonderful days at the farm. John loved raising cattle and horses, repairing fences and generally being a weekend cowboy. John and Donna did some travelling and loved camping all over Canada from coast to coast. John was very proud of his grandchildren. He loved attending all the ball games, hockey games and dance recitals. John ran a successful Consulting Engineering business for many years. He was one of the pioneers of the consulting profession in Saskatchewan and was known for his honesty and integrity throughout the construction industry.
