JOHN ALBERT PURSCHKE
July 20th, 1942 ~ October 10th, 2013
John is dearly loved and remembered by his wife, Rose; son, Daniel (Diane); brother, Don (Rica); sisters, Joan Page, Rita (Walter) Edwards, and Audrey Cole; brother-in-law, Roman (Shirley) Litwin as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, aunts and uncles. John was born in Lamont, AB and grew up in McBride, BC, moving to Saskatoon with family for his high school years. He taught school in Mossbank and St. Walburg, SK. He worked for Purolator for 25 plus years retiring in 2003. John was an avid reader, collector of stamps, coins, maps and the classics. He also was a great student of history. He loved his weekly coffees and breakfasts with his buddies. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer/Dementia Society-c/o Dementia Research (301-2550-12th Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 3X1). Special thanks to the workers and caregivers at Parkridge Centre for the loving care they gave to John. Special thanks to Drs. Yelland, McGettigan, Baldwin, Walker and Sader for their compassionate care. The Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16th, at the Riverbend Church of God (306 Saguenay Drive).
