1976 - 2012
Kari Anne, of Saskatoon, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012 in Palliative Care at St. Paul's Hospital at 10:20 p.m. Kari is the much loved wife of Derek and "mommy" to puppies Chloe and Wilber. Kari is the utmost loved and adored daughter of Dianne and Bob McCloy, sister to Marla (Tom) and Michael (Daisy) and sister-in- law to Edwin (Angie). Kari is a very much loved and adored daughter-in-law to Howard and Deb Vogelsang. Also left to mourn Kari are her grandma Williams, grandma Hartley, grandma Vogelsang, and grandpa Vanin. Kari sadly leaves to cherish her memory nieces and nephews, Kelsea and Brooklyn Vogelsang, Devon, Matthew, Samantha, Nathan, Chantelle, Drake, Richelle, Meagan and Jonathan, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Kari was born December 31, 1976, attended James Alexander Public School and Mount Royal Collegiate. She met Derek December 15, 1996. It was love at first sight and has remained strong and true. They celebrated their 6th wedding anniversary January 12, just days before being admitted to St. Paul's Hospital and then two weeks later to Royal University Hospital and finally back to St. Paul's Hospital for a total of 96 days in the hospital fighting a battle with cancer, which was not to be won. She spent a few weeks at home where Derek did all that was humanly possible for his love. Kari worked at Vecima for many years and moved to Cameco one year ago where she made many wonderful friends. Our darling, brave girl will be sadly missed and will be forever in our hearts. The Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Park Funeral Chapel, 311 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. It was Kari's wish that donations in her memory be made to the Saskatchewan SPCA, 40-1736 Quebec Avenue, PO Box 37, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 3K1.
