Kevin McGrath
January 31, 1917 - June 24, 2012
Kevin McGrath passed away peacefully on June 24th at the age of 95.
He was predeceased by his parents, Martin and Katherine, and his sisters Patricia and Christine (Vincent). Surviving to miss him is his nephew Darryl Vincent and his niece Kem (Wayne) Brewer, grandnieces Monica (David) Williams, Theresa (Bruce) Forster, and great nephews and niece Matthew Kevin, Emily and Thomas and his extended family of Brenda Winny, Tim (Judy) Clinton and Robert Clinton.
Kevin returned from Ireland with his family when he was 9 years old. He then farmed his whole adult life on the original homestead in the Fielding area. He enjoyed all sports, participating or coaching in hockey, softball and curling and he always could beat you in crib.
He was a long time Council Member of the RM of Mayfield, a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus and the Radisson Elks Club.
Kevin's ready smile and wonderful tenor voice will be missed by all who knew him. He was a well versed, avid reader; he treated the conversation of anyone that came to his door with true Irish hospitality. This earned him many lifelong friends.
Special thanks to Kevin's caregivers from Home In Stead Senior Care, Luther Care Home and pastoral services of Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on June 30th at 11 am at St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church, 423 Main Street, Langham. Lunch will follow at the Radisson Hall. In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to the charity of your choice. Email condolences may be sent to mail@saskatoonfuneralhome.com.
