Kirk passed away suddenly but peacefully on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Royal University Hospital after a short battle with cancer. He was born in Saskatoon on December 15, 1956 to Reg and Ruth Shanofer who had 5 boys in total. Kirk is survived by his wife of 20 years, Cheryl (nee Uhrich); son Keenan and Keenan's new bride Hayley, and 2 month old grandson, Kane. Kirk also leaves behind his mother Ruth; brother Jerry (Donna), Danny (Elaine), Kelly (Cathy), Reg (Janine); and many nieces and nephews. Kirk will also be missed by his other family members and many friends. Kirk was a private man and enjoyed spending much time with his family who he loved dearly. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, wood and metal work. He was employed as an electrician and was a proud member for 36 years of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) 529. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him. As requested by Kirk, no funeral or service will take place. See you on the other side, DAD!
