Laura Stushnoff passed away at the Langham Senior Citizen's Home on February 9, 2013 at the age of 87. Laura was born on January 31, 1926 and grew up on the family farm at Tiny, Saskatchewan. She married George Stushnoff in 1946 and moved with him to the Stushnoff family farm in 1948. They moved to Prince Albert in 1968, followed by moves to Yorkton, Regina and Saskatoon. Laura decorated all their homes with flair, and turned each yard into a garden of colour. Her family received the benefits of her sewing, knitting, quilting and crocheting skills, and enjoyed her meals of traditional borscht and baked pirohi. Laura and George enjoyed travelling to destinations in North America, Hawaii, and Russia. Laura was predeceased by her parents George and Anna (Eletskoff) Petroff, her husband George in 2001, grandson Michael Stushnoff in 2003, sixteen year-old sister Polly in 1926, infant sister Mable, infant brother Wasyl, and her sister Doris and brother-in-law Nick Melnychuck. She was also predeceased by her brothers-in- law and sisters-in-law Peter (Mary) Stushnoff, Bill (Mary) Stushnoff, Annie (Bill) Woykin, and brother-in-law Bill Tarasoff. Laura is survived by her son Brian (Anita) Stushnoff and grandson Jonathan, daughter Sandra (Ted) Walker and grandchildren Craig Walker, Cynthia Walker, and Scott (Kristina Hughes) Walker and their daughter Faith, by son Richard Stushnoff (Colette) and by foster daughter Rose McCullum (Paul Friesen) and her children Jordan, Jacob, and Starr. She is also survived by sister-in-law Helen Tarasoff and numerous nieces and nephews. The family expresses their sincere thanks to the staff of the Langham Senior's Home for the excellent care Laura received over the past year. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Funeral service will be held at the Saskatoon Funeral Home on Friday, February 15 at 11:00 AM.
