Louis-Paul Robert, age 82, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Friday, October 5, 2012. Louis was born on October 16, 1929, in St. Cesaire, Quebec to Richard and Wilda Robert. At the age of 6, Louis moved to Saskatchewan with his parents and his brothers and sisters. Growing up on a farm just outside of Saskatoon, Louis learned many life lessons, including how to work hard - a trait he carried with him throughout his life. He also learned the importance of family and friendships. Being outgoing and very sociable, Louis gravitated towards the hospitality industry. For many years, Louis managed the Patricia Hotel Bar, and it was during these years that he met many people who became life-long friends – one of which became his wife (Doreen). After many years at the Pat, Louis decided to try a new role, as maintenance man with the Saskatchewan Teachers Federation (STF). For 17 years, Louis took great pride in his work, and anyone who drove by the STF grounds would see how much love and joy went into the upkeep of that facility. Louis retired from the STF in 1992. Although Louis had many health issues in the last few years of his life, his joy of life, his commitment to his friends and his family, his honesty and integrity were ever-present. Louis was a loving husband, an amazing father, a wonderful grandpa, a dedicated brother and uncle, and a true friend. Louis will always be remembered by his loving wife, Doreen (Laliberte-Levesque) and their four children and seven grandchildren, Mark & Karen Levesque (Jordan), Jan & Tim Sieben, Barb & Daryle Reed (Brooke, Raquel, Priscilla, Alyssa), Michael & Sheri Levesque (Phil, Stephanie). He is also survived by his brothers, Roland (Mina) Robert, Aurele (Joyce) Robert, Leon Robert, and his sisters, Aline Robert, Lisa Krushelinski, Rita Crowe, Jeannette (Orville) McKee and Yvonne (Gerry) Caudle, and numerous nieces and nephews. Louis was predeceased by his parents Richard and Wilda Robert and his sister Jeanne McLean. The family thanks the staff in the Emergency Department and Unit 6100 at Royal University Hospital for the exceptional care that was provided to Louis from the moment he arrived on the morning of October 3 until his passing. A Memorial Service will take place at Park Funeral Chapel, 311 3rd Avenue North, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2012.
