Margie Marie Ives (neé Watson) passed away in New Market Place, Tisdale on May 29. Born the daughter of Herman Edward Watson and Faye Elizabeth Francis at Frontier, Saskatchewan, she grew up near Whitefox, Saskatchewan. Marie became a telephone operator in Tisdale, meeting her future husband, Jack Ives Sr. Married in 1951, they worked in Prince Albert, and then returned to Tisdale, where they were co-publishers of the Tisdale Recorder. Marie is pre-deceased by her parents, Jack Ives Sr. and daughter Barbara Lynn Sych (neé Ives), and siblings Helen Meyers, Opal Everett, Doris Gingras, and Garland Watson. She is survived by sons Dr. Jack Ives, Jr. and Don Ives, eight grandchildren (Kimberly and Jesse Ives, children of Jack and Barbara [King] Ives; Rebecca [Kindrat], Marla [Coles] and Robin [McDougall], children of Don and Brenda [Marleau] Ives; and Sarah [Dobko], Meghan [Reichert] and Matthew Sych, children of Brian and Barbara Sych), and seven great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM, June 18, 2018 at St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Tisdale. Donations may be made to the Terry Fox Foundation: .
