1922 - 2013
The passing of Mary Goddard (nee Crampton), aged 91 years, of Kindersley, SK occurred on February 8, 2013. On January 19, 1922, Mary, the second of six children, was born to William and Ivy Crampton on the family farm near Abbey, SK. On January 3, 1942, she married the love of her life, George Goddard, and they began their family. When George returned from serving overseas during World War II, the family lived in Swift Current where Mary worked at various jobs. They moved to Kindersley in 1955 and this is where they remained. In 1985 Mary retired from Sears, and began spending the summers at Aquadeo Resort on Jackfish Lake. For more than a decade, winters were spent in Yuma, Arizona. Mary was a faithful member of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary and of the Royal Purple, and was very dedicated to her church. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, crosswords, and baking. She loved her family above all else. Her last year and one half was spent in Heritage Manor in Kindersley. She was predeceased by her loving husband, George; her parents; her brothers Allan, Bill, and Mel Crampton; her sister Ruth Sanderson; daughter-in-law Loreen Goddard; in-laws Jean Crampton, Vern Sanderson, and June Crampton, Bill and Erma Goddard, Reginald Goddard, Stanley Goddard, Bob Goddard, Leslie Goddard, Gertrude and Jack Mitchell, Blanche and Jalmer Lien, Edith and Gus Nelson, Eileen and Charlie Brawn, Polly Goddard, Margaret and Basil Tuffs. She leaves to mourn daughter Sharon of Kindersley, and her family: Sheri (Kelly) Lynch (Lindsay [Brent] Taddeo, Adelle Sutherland, Braydon and Darien Lynch), Wendy (Steve) Schmaltz (Stephanie, Amanda, Kadin), Mark (Connie) Elliott (Morgan and Mitchell); son Bob (Marie) of Calgary, and their family: Brenda (Lorne) Christal (Kelsey and Kaylee), Laurie (Trevor) Dales (Maegan and Tanner), Bobbi; son Brad of Kindersley; daughter Vicki (Jeff) Coghill of Regina, and their family: Jordan and Mason; brother John Crampton (Saskatoon); in-laws Marg Crampton (Swift Current), Jack Goddard (Grand Forks), Dorothy Tengum (Cranbrook); numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's Anglican Church in Kindersley on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kindersley Heritage Manor. Arrangements entrusted to Kindersley Community Funeral Home and Crematorium.
