Michael Walter Lungul
November 25, 1941 ~ January 25, 2013
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mike Lungul from Nipawin, Saskatchewan at the age of 71. He is loved, remembered and missed by his family and many friends. Michael is survived by his daughter Deborah (Don) Smith; his son Mitchell (Dawn) Lungul; grandchildren, Kristy (Quinny) Thomas; Breann Tait; Kolten Bill; Owen Lungul; and great-grandchildren Arayah, Khalia, Mali, Maya. Michael was predeceased by his father William, his mother Ann, and his sister Connie. Mike was always happiest when he was working, and had a very hard time sitting still. He had several careers early on, but his 16 years in the hotel industry in Codette and Leoville, Saskatchewan proved to leave the biggest impact on him, of which he always had a story or two to tell. Mike loved working with the public and had a way of always making people feel welcome. His hospitality and generosity were always apparent whenever you visited Mikey's Bar. After leaving the hotel business, he semi- retired and began driving truck, which he loved greatly. It was a complete change from the stresses he was used to. Mike was a friend to all, and seldom was he seen without a smile. He loved the outdoors, and being with friends. He truly appreciated the kind words and gestures from all those over the last 5 years. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Special thanks to all the Health Care providers from Royal University Hospital and the Nipawin Hospital for the outstanding care he received over the last 5 years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nipawin Hospital.
