Norman Edward Seib
It's with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Norman Edward Seib of Nanaimo BC. Norman passed away on Tuesday, October 2nd 2012 following a two-year battle with cancer at the Nanaimo Regional Hospital.
Norman was born on November 18th, 1940 in North Battleford Saskatchewan, son of August and June Seib. He grew up the second oldest of six children on the family farm (siblings Ronald, Eleanor, Raymond, Gary, and David). In spite of several moves to other Western provinces, Norman had a strong sense of family and delighted in continual visits with his cherished siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews throughout his life.
Norman was educated in and practiced Psychiatric Nursing in his early years in Saskatchewan, where he married his beloved wife Regina Ann in 1964. This was followed by education and work in the life insurance industry. He then worked in health care administration and finally church administration, which he considered his calling. His ever encouraging presence and leadership formed strong friendships as he lived out his Christian faith. This was evident in the caring community of friends supporting him and his wife in his final days, for which his family is grateful.
Norman had a positive and thankful attitude, even throughout his difficult struggle with cancer. He enjoyed travel, golf and playing the accordion. He inspired many people throughout his life with his wise and timely words. His faith and his loving relationships with family and friends truly defined his life.
Norman is survived by his wife Regina of Nanaimo, daughter Andrea Taylor of Calgary (husband Scott, children Jackson and Jordan), and daughter Kristine Neil of Calgary (husband Brent, children Daniel, Matthew, and Liam). Thanks to Dr.Rogers, Dr.Hart and the many health care team members who took such great care of him.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday October 13, 2012 at the Nanaimo Alliance Church 1609 Meredith Rd, Nanaimo, BC V9S 5J2.
Donations in lieu of flowers: World Vision Life- Saving Water project.
