Peter Sharanowski
July 9, 1944 - February 10, 2013
It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of beloved husband, father and grandfather on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the age of 68. Peter is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Shutiak); his daughter and grandchildren, Patty (James) Boyenko, Matthew, Sarah and Thomas; son, Terry (Barb). Peter is also survived by his brother, Mike Sharanowski; sister, Sally Dziadyk; brother in law, Walter Procknicki and sister in law, Helen Michayluk; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Peter was predeceased by his parents, John and Phyllis (Matushewski) Sharanowski; mother- and father in law, Annie (Mahyr) and John Shutiak; sister in law, Rose Sharanowski; brother in law, Albin Dziadyk and great nephew, Ryan Letkeman. Peter was born in Saskatoon on July 9, 1944 and was raised on a farm near Alvena, SK. He married Elizabeth on July 24, 1965. Together they farmed near Smuts and raised their two children. Peter was very generous and always willing to help friends and neighbours. He enjoyed watching a variety of sports, especially curling. Peter was very excited to become a Dido. Peter will be sadly missed and fondly remembered. Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Park Funeral Chapel, 311 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of St. Mary the Protectress, St. Julien, SK, officiated by Rev. Fr. Patrick Powalinsky. Interment will follow in St. Julien Orthodox Cemetery. Donations in Peter's memory can be made to the St. Julien Ukrainian Orthodox Church of St. Mary the Protectress, or to a charity of the Donor's Choice.
