Raymond passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, December 21, 2012 surrounded by his family. Vigil of Prayer will be held on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at 4:00 pm and the Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, December 24, 2012 at 10:00 am, both services will be held at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church, 114 Kingsmere Place (Taylor St. E. and Kingsmere Blvd). Ray is survived by his loving wife Leona (Willick), sons Richard (Darlene) and Dennis (Heather), daughters Arlene (Ed Fairbrother), Brenda (Jason Jabusch), daughter-in-law Lorraine Diehl (John Duncan), 12 grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren, sisters Lillian (George) Marquis and Rose (Claire Boarse), brother Fred (Eva), sister-in-laws Margeruite, Florence and Theresa. He was predeceased by his parents, son Gordon, son-in-law Denis LeFrancois, granddaughter Sheri Diehl, infant grandson Denis Diehl, infant great- granddaughter Grace Ermel and 4 brothers and a sister. Ray was the 6th child of 9 born to Harry and Jane (Guillet) at the family farm near Martin's Lake in the Aldina District of Marcelin, Sask. He married Leona on October 22, 1946 celebrating their 66th anniversary in 2012. Together with Leona, his wife and business partner, they founded Ray's Transport in 1949, a family business that has spanned 3 generations. Ray enjoyed hunting and fishing at Dore Lake, quading, golfing, gardening and playing cards. He and Leona spent 20 years wintering in the States. In Ray's later years playing pool, walking at the Field House, morning coffee with the gang and trips out to the casino were great pass times. He loved his family and friends and nothing made him happier than to have them around the table playing a good game of Crib. Charitable donations may be made to the Terry Fox Institute for Cancer Research,675 West 10th Avenue,14th Floor,Vancouver, BC, V5Z1L3 or a charity of the donor's choice. Flowers are gratefully declined. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
