Ken Gruza passed away suddenly at his home on Monday June 4, 2012. Born in Saskatoon on May 11, 1946, he was the eldest son of Nicholas and Annie (Siermachesky) Gruza. Ken is predeceased by his mother Annie (Dec. 1990), father Nick (Apr. 18, 2001), and brothers James (Sept. 12, 1992) and Ron (Jan. 25, 2003). An active member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic parish, Ken participated in various projects and events. He enjoyed flipping pancakes at parish breakfasts, and was a willing and able volunteer. He was an active member and former Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Our Mother of Perpetual Help Council #9538, and served as treasurer on the board of the Saskatoon Youth Development Corporation, operating the Blackstrap Youth Camp.

Ken was involved in his local Community Watch program, and was very interested in his community. The Blackstrap Youth Camp was a special interest. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ken's memory can be made to the Blackstrap Youth camp, Box 203, Saskatoon, SK S7K 3K4.
