Ronald Edmond Bailey, age 81, passed away quietly at home in Delisle, SK on Monday, April 29, 2013. Those left to cherish Ron's memory are his beloved wife of 52 years, Julie; three daughters and sons-in-law, Barb and Lee Engemoen (Humboldt), Patty and Tim Timmerman (Saskatoon) and Loralee and Ward Windrim (Sugar Land, TX); his four amazing grandchildren, Carson and Lynnea Engemoen, Roman and Conrad Timmerman. He is survived by his only sister, Marie and Milton Malick (Holden, BC); sisters-in-law, Eileen Bailey (Parksville, BC), Mary Kellett (Saskatoon), Anne and Kensel Mitchell (Burnaby, BC), Irene Bobyk (Yorkton); and many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins. Ron was predeceased by his parents Harold and Elspia (Price) Bailey; his two brothers, Cliff and Doug, both in 2012; his brother-in-law, William Bobyk and sister-in- law, Agnes Bailey. Ron, the eldest of four children, was born August 21, 1931 at Innisfail, AB and grew up in Bowden, AB. He spent his early years working as a banker in central and northern Alberta. Ron met Julie Bobyk in 1958. They married in October 1960 and lived in Swan Hills, AB, Calgary, AB and Saskatoon, SK before building their home in Delisle, SK in 1977. Ron worked in the automotive service industry for many years. He enjoyed a 20 year career in the courier business, finally retiring in 2001. At his passing, Ron was a proud member of the Saskatoon Elks Lodge #12, having served 3 terms as Exalted Ruler in both the Delisle and Saskatoon lodges. Ron loved fishing, golfing, playing cards and socializing. He was an avid volunteer and supporter of both the Delisle Bruins and the Delisle Chiefs hockey clubs, as well as the Valleyview Golf and Country Club. Sports were Ron's passion. He was an especially proud grandpa while watching his grandchildren participate in hockey, baseball, soccer, golf and dance. Relatives and friends are invited to the Vigil of Prayer and Tributes on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. Both services will be held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church (211 Avenue O South, Saskatoon, SK). Rite of Committal will follow in the Delisle Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Delisle Cemetery Fund. To send online condolences to the family, visit "Obituaries and Tributes".
