Ronald Ross Johnson
January 5, 1936 - May 19, 2013
It is with sadness we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather on May 19, 2013 at the age of 77. Ron was born in Norquay, SK in 1936. He was proud to be a member of the Canadian Armed Forces, joining the Air Force in 1954 and serving for 25 years. Subsequently, he worked at Central Canada Potash (Colonsay) and Cigar Lake Mine until his retirement. In his youth, Ron was an outstanding baseball player and curler. Later in life he remained an avid follower of all sports. He was a long standing member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Ron's latest passion was keeping company with Donna in their beautiful yard. Ron is survived by his beloved partner Donna Marowitch and his children Kim Johnson (Will Rafuse) Montreal , QC; Deborah Johnson (Bruce McQuade) of St. Albert, AB and their children Andrea, Nicolas and Mikaela; Rick (Marla) Johnson of Saskatoon, SK and their children Ella and Nicholas. He was predeceased by his father and mother, Clarence and Jean (nee Laurie), and sister Margaret (Faulkner). Ron will be deeply missed by all family and friends, especially his faithful canine companion, Maggie. A great fan of country music, we will always remember him when we hear George Jones. Thank you to all the staff at St. Paul's Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their support. In keeping with Dad's wishes, the family will celebrate his life privately. May he rest in peace.
