On Monday, January 28, 2013, Rosie Balion (nee Kobrynsky) peacefully passed away in St. Joseph's Home at the age of 86 years. She is survived by her sister, Eugenia (Karpo) Bodnar of Tisdale, SK; brother, Marian (Sophie) Kobrynsky of Rosthern, SK; sister in law, Lillian Kobrynsky of Saskatoon, SK; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rosie was predeceased by her loving husband, George in 1982; parents, Frances in 1982 and Dmytro in 1980; and brother, Steve. Rosie was born and raised in the Smuts district. Rosie married George in 1948 and they lived in Leofnard district until 1970, when they moved to Saskatoon. In the recent past, due to ill health Rosie moved to St. Joseph's Home, where she was provided with excellent care. The family thanks St. Joseph's Sisters and staff for the exceptional care of our dear sister, Rosie. The Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. and the Funeral Service will be on Friday, February 1, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Both services will be held at Park Funeral Chapel, 311 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK. Officiating will be Very Rev. Fr. Taras Makowsky. Interment will take place in St. Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, Lepine, SK.
