It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our precious Mother, Sharon Claire Straathof (Simpson). Mom was raised on a farm in Claresholm, Alberta and married Arnold Unterberger in 1954. Together, they had four children: Karen, Norman, Cheralyn, Jo-Jo. Mom raised her children, mainly on her own. She had a great love for her family and taught her children "kindness and consideration for others." Mom will be sadly missed by her brothers, Merl (Marg) Simpson, Kelowna, B.C.; Bob (Irene) Simpson, Prince George, B.C. Mom was pre- deceased by her parents Bruce and Clara Simpson, Claresholm, Alberta and oldest daughter, Karen Unterberger, Prince Albert, Sk. Her three surviving children are: Son, Norman (Brenda) Unterberger, Kelowna, B.C. [grandchildren: Shawn (Krista), Tyler (Christine), Lindsay (Shawn)]; Daughter, Cheralyn Herman, Martensville, SK [grandchildren: Jamie (Karla), Josh (Jill), Jennifer (Clay); Daughter, Jo-Jo (Doug) Osczevski, Martensville, SK [grandchildren: Aaron, Adam, Alex]; 6 great grandchildren: (Abigail, Madison, Mason, Nia, Isaiah, Oliver]; nephew (Bruce) and 3 nieces (Cathy, Bev, Sonia). The family would like to thank the many wonderful Staff at the Saskatoon Convalescent home, where Mom spent the last 5 years of her life surrounded by much love. Their tender care, particularly during her final weeks was over and above their call of duty. We will miss her very much but, happy memories of Mom will always be in our hearts and she will always be with us. A service will be held on Thursday, December 6th at Saskatoon Funeral Home at 1:30 pm. E-mail condolences may be sent to Arrangements have been entrusted to SASKATOON FUNERAL HOME, 244-5577
