MCCONNELL, Sophie February 9, 1943 July 7, 2018 It is with sadness and love in our hearts that the family of Sophie McConnell share the news of her passing on July 7, 2018. Sophie will be lovingly remembered by her husband Doug; daughter Sherri (Dave) Solomko, their children Shelby (Josh) and Landon; daughter Debbie (Darrell) Watamanuk, their children Jesse (Carla) and great-granddaughter Ruby, Spencer (Marsha) and great-grandchildren Brooklyn, Hayley, Lincoln, Peyton, and baby-to-be, Sarah (Matthew) McNutt and great-grandchildren Rhett, and Scarlett, Jenna(Brin); her son-in-law Lance Nomeland, and grandson Kyle Nomeland (Heather); her sister Pat (Cliff) McConnell; brother Randy Hawryliw (Marilyn Boll); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and family-members-in-law. Sophie was a very humble person, never an unkind word left her lips. Not one person entered her life that was not profoundly touched by her strength and love. She may have taken her last breath, but this is not the end. Sophie soared above every challenge, and death is no exception. Her spirit knows no bounds. Every quality that we love and will miss the most about her, is the legacy that will continue on infinitely - instilled in, and inspiring her family and friends forever. Thank you Mom for the greatest gifts you could have ever given us: strength of family, everlasting hope in faith, limitless love, and you as your genuine self until the very end. While we are devastated that we've held your hand for the last time, we are comforted knowing that when you left us you were greeted in the arms of those most beloved to you: your parents Peter and Julia; brother Myron; son Ryan; daughter Lori; granddaughter Melisa, among others. It is not bye forever, it is "bye for now" but until then, we will see you in the spring flowers that bloom, we will hear you in the harmony of your favourite songs, and we will feel you in each other's embrace. We will love, cherish, and remember you always. Rest in peace, our sweet angel. Memorial donations may be directed to The Canadian Cancer Society (1910 McIntyre St. Regina, SK S4P 2R3), Telemiracle (2217C Hanselman Ct. Saskatoon, SK S7L 6A8), or Nashi (535 8th St. E., Saskatoon, SK S7H 0P9). A Celebration of Sophie's Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018 in St. David's Trinity United Church (3318 Merritt St, Saskatoon).
