Victor H. Pizzey
December 18, 1928 - October 9, 2012
Vic Pizzey, a lifelong resident of Saskatoon, passed away peacefully at St. Paul's hospital following a brief illness. He was 83 years of age. He is survived by Jean, his wife of eleven years, daughter Sharon (Don) Schneider, grandsons Jason and Christopher Schneider, by his daughter-in-law Laureen, grandsons Brandon, Jarrel and Scott Pizzey. He is also survived by Jean's daughters Donna (Doug) Vranai and Lynn Peterson (Brad Sherban) and step grandchildren Dylan and Thea Cody and Destin Vranai. He was predeceased by his first wife Sheila, in 1996, his son Barry in 2004 and his brother Ken in 2006. Vic was employed by Westeel Ltd. For over 35 years. He enjoyed his involvement with a number of organizations including CAA Sask. (Honorary Life Director), Saskatoon Const. Assoc.(Honorary Life Member), Saskatoon Tourist & Convention Bureau, Saskatoon Board of Trade, Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce, Saskatoon Optimist and Saskatoon Golden K's. Over the years Vic participated in many sports including baseball, hockey, curling, and golf. He achieved a duffer's dream when he scored his only hole-in-one at age 80. Traveling, particularly cruising, was a passion of Vic's. The family cabin at Candle Lake was the setting for countless happy gatherings for more than 30 years. Later in life the focus became warm winter getaways in Hemet, Ca. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, Oct 13 at 2:30 p.m. In the chapel of the Saskatoon Funeral Home (338 4th ave N) with refreshments to follow at the W.A. Edwards Family Centre. Cremation, with interment at a later date at the Columbarium at St. John's Cathedral.
