Viola June Rose Siegel
(nee Ketchum, formerly Morrow)
Viola passed away peacefully on February 19, 2013 in palliative care at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon, SK after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on June 16, 1938 and was predeceased by her second husband Edward Siegel (2000), her parents and 5 brothers. She is survived by siblings, George (Ester) Ketchum and Lillian Vincent. Viola was a kind and loving mother who was very proud of her family. "Little Grandma" will be lovingly remembered by her children, Larry (Karen) Morrow of Calgary; Anita (Don) Reid of Lac la Biche, AB; Joyce (John) Noppers of Ardrossan, AB; Slade (Vonnie) Morrow of Saskatoon and Georgina (Gord) Gadd of Briercrest, SK; 17 Grandchildren and 26 Great-Grandchildren. For many years Viola was a proud and active member of the Royal Canadian Legion and spent many hours on the golf course. Later Viola turned to bowling and loved to visit with her church family. She also loved her dog Jazz, jigsaw puzzles, and became a champion "facebooker". She cherished her time with family and especially enjoyed her camping trips to Buffalo Pound and more importantly her Christmas time with Georgina and family. Viewing will take place at Life Point Pentecostal Church in Lanigan at 7 - 9 p.m. on Sunday, February 24. The Funeral will be held on Monday, February 25, at 11:00 a.m. at Life Point Pentecostal Church with Reverend Kevin Sawatsky officiating. A private family interment will take place in the Lanigan Cemetery, followed by a memorial lunch. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Life Point Pentecostal Church in Lanigan.
