On Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 6:15 p.m. we said goodbye to our dear Mom, Yvonne Lindberg. Born February 2, 1925 in the CN Station in Bradwell, she was the 5th child of Don and Hazel Harnett. She grew up there and played softball, enjoyed speed skating and played hockey on an all girls hockey team. Mom went to Technical School in Saskatoon. She married John Lindberg April 19, 1945. They farmed in the Wall Lake area South of Bradwell and east of Dundurn and operated Lindberg Farm Supply Ltd. Curling was her passion and winter storms didn't stop her. She went equipped with shovel, ski pants, big mitts and curling broom, and took her team of Polly Hass, Ruth Meilicke, and Liz Tamke to the Ladies' Northern Curling Championships in 1964. They relocated to Allan in 1974. Mom was a member of the Allan Baptist Church and truly lived her faith. Always athletic, Mom took up golfing in the early 70's and was an enthusiastic member of the Wildwood Golf Club. Her golf bag was a treasure chest of quick change items ready for rain or shine. Many of her golf and curling friends faithfully stood by her with love, support and encouragement and she thought the world of them. Yvonne is survived by her 3 children, daughter Lana (Al Kirchgessner) and their children, Scott (Leanne Nyirfa) - Ashleigh, Noah and Payton, Lisa (Carey Friesen) - Jonah and Hayley, Chris (Mandy Eckert) - Ava and Lex, Dale (Kari Brown); son Gary (Corinne) Lindberg and children, Stacy, Bryce (Lisa Kuylik), Angie (Danny Sydenham) - Kaiden, Ayla and Maielle, Becky (Gary Ramsay) - Chloe and Rylan, JayDee and Aleisha Mazier; daughter Molly (Bill Epp), children Jody (Scott Barr) - Austin, Riley and Kolton, Jamie (Tristan Koroscil) - baby Jayce, Jenna Epp (Jeremy Watt). The Celebration of Life will be held at McClure United Church (McKercher Drive & Taylor Street East) on Tuesday, April 22 at 1:30 p.m. Memorial Donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, the Canadian Bible Society, or Ronald McDonald House.
