December 17, 1923 – March 8, 2014
George passed away suddenly on March 8 at the age of 90. He was predeceased by his wife Roxie in 1981. He is survived by sons Tom (wife Lisa & son Braydon) of Markham, Ont., Jim (wife Lynne) of Saskatoon, daughter Gerry (husband Jim Gilchrist & daughters Rachel and Shannon) of Kelowna, BC. George attended Tech Collegiate prior to enlisting in the navy to serve in WWII. He worked 30 years for Sask Power and retired in 1984 as Plant Manager of the AL Cole Generating Station. He will be remembered by his children for his unconditional love and support. One of his proudest moments was sharing in his sons' World Curling Championship win and the curling community will miss his support behind the glass. The other loves in his life were his grandchildren. He was so very proud of how they have grown and are making their way in the world. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in George's name to the Nutana Curling Club Junior Curling Program. A Celebration of George's life will be held on Saturday, March 15, 10:00 a.m. at Acadia-McKague's Funeral Centre, 915 Acadia Dr.
