June 22, 1926 – April 19, 2014
Dad left us peacefully on Angel's Wings to his final journey home on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at St. Joseph's Home. Dad lived a fulfilling life meeting new friends in his active career managing hotels and the Union Centre, but the passion in his heart was always to visit and work on the family homestead in St. Julien. His pride and joy was his family, spending time with his best pet buddy, Mutumbo, polishing his cars while listening to Ukrainian music and barbecuing steaks to perfection. Looking forward to Saturday nights to put on his dancing shoes and mingle with friends was very important to him. His door was always opened with a smile and a mischievous gleam in his eyes for playing cards, or to clown around. It made him proud to take time to lend a helping hand to family and friends needs. Dad is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Darlene (Ken), granddaughter Stacey, great grandchildren Hudson and Harbour; son, Darryl (Barb) and family; sisters, Emily Pawliuk, Pauline (Joe) Harriman; brothers, Ron, Paul (Val); numerous nieces and nephews and special family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Dmytro and Mary; brother, Bill; sisters, Olga and Sylvia. With Dad's wishes a private family funeral was held on Friday, April 25, 2014 at Park Funeral Chapel. Interment took place in Woodlawn Orthodox Cemetery. A special heartfelt thank you to the Sisters, nurses and staff at St. Joseph's Home for their excellent care of Dad.
We love and miss you Dad.
