Cam McCannell was surrounded by loving family at the time of his passing on June 6, 2014. Cam was the youngest child of Edith and Sandy McCannell and was born on their farm at Doonside, Saskatchewan on April 1, 1935. After 34 years of teaching in Regina, Winnipeg and Saskatoon, Cam retired in 1991 and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, golfing, playing pool and spending summers at his Turtle Lake cottage. Cam is survived by Della, his wife of 55 years, his sons Scott (Wanda), David (Tracy); granddaughters Alyssa (Jeremy) and Samantha; his great-grandson Jaxon; sisters and brothers-in-law Roberta, Kenneth (Myrtle), Phyllis, Terry (Bill) and many nieces and nephews. Cam was predeceased by his parents; brother Jack and sisters Margaret and Jean. Those who spent time with Cam knew of his gentle nature, care and compassion for others and his sense of humour. He will be greatly missed by all. A Celebration of Cam's life will be held at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th Street, first right past Briargate Road) on Tuesday June 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial Donations in Cam's name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (101-440 2nd Avenue North Saskatoon, SK S7K 2C3) or a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements entrusted to Sten Olesen.
