Ronald Allan Nutbrown
Born October 27, 1929
Ron Nutbrown passed away at the Saskatoon Extendicare. He was born in Maymont, Saskatchewan and grew up on the family farm. As an adult, he decided Vancouver was too wet and returned to Saskatchewan where he worked for the municipality of Maymont. Eventually he joined the staff at University Hospital in Saskatoon. During his 36 years of service at RUH, he worked in several departments and retired in 1991 after 14 years as the Director of Central Linen Services. He and Elaine moved to Vernon, BC where they lived for 10 years. He enjoyed cross country skiing, volunteering with the Trinity Church men's group and singing with the Halina Choir. In 2001, he and Elaine moved back to Saskatoon to be closer to family, old friends and the coveted Emma Lake property. He battled cancer first in 1992 and several times thereafter until finally succumbing to it on June 25, 2014. He is survived by loving wife, Elaine; son, Allan (Deb); daughter, Shelley Babineau (Bob); sister, Marlyn Reid; brothers, Earl (Velda), Alvin (Meegan); cousins, nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at McClure United Church (4025 Taylor Street East, Saskatoon) on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. The service will be followed by a light lunch. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the McClure United Church - Memorial Fund or a charity of your choice.
