Darlene Diane Lindberg (Oleksyn)
Darlene Lindberg of Saskatoon passed away June 27, 2014 with her children by her side. Darlene was born in Cudworth, SK to John and Nellie Oleksyn and grew up in Leofnard before moving to Saskatoon. She went to Cudworth High School, following which she trained in hairstyling at Marvel and in cooking at SIAST, in Saskatoon. She is survived by her three children; Kirk Lindberg, Ash Lindberg, Laureen (Scott) Miller; grandchildren Keegan Miller, Kaitlyn Miller, Tayler Williamson; great- grandchild Ruby Williamson; sister Linda Dear of Cochrane, AB; brothers Glenn Oleksyn of Calgary, AB, Roger (Linda) Oleksyn of Kelowna, BC and their families. Darlene was predeceased by her mother and father, Nellie (Kinaschuk) Oleksyn and John William (JB) Oleksyn. Darlene cherished family and developed special individual relationships with nieces, nephews and her very close friends. Relationships with family and friends were extremely important. The pride and joy of her life was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. Darlene was always creative, enjoyed crafts with her grandchildren, teaching them about cooking and loving them passionately. Her best friend, her beloved dog Molly, was her constant companion. Darlene shared many talents in her over 40 years of work life. Her skills of nourishing others with her professional cooking were evident at a variety of faith based facilities. As a well known hairstylist she was particularly gifted in working with the elderly and had the ability to create exactly what the client needed. Demonstrating compassion and caring in all she did, Darlene will be remembered fondly and dearly missed by family and friends. A Service of Remembrance will be held from Acadia- McKague's Funeral Centre (915 Acadia Drive) on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 2:00 p.m.
