SIELSKI, Ronald Maurice
July 18, 1960 – July 1, 2014
With a peace that surpasses all human understanding, we remember with love and celebrate the life of a wonderful husband, dad, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Following a brief and courageous battle with cancer, Ron took his last breath on earth and his first breath in heaven on July 1, 2014. His family was blessed to be able to care for him in their home for two weeks until the time of his passing. Ron will forever be loved and cherished by his wife and life partner, Denise and their three precious daughters, Afton, Vallyn and Devynne; parents, Maurice and Theresa Sielski; siblings, Pat (Steve), Gord, Cathie (Petr), and Corinne (Blaine); in-laws, Doug and Marie Wankel, Doyle (Nordis), and Val (Dwayne). He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as a large extended family, business colleagues, and many dear friends. Ron, together with his uncle Tony, owned and operated Saskatoon Doors and More from 1986 – 2012. After a five month "retirement", he started doing contract work as a project supervisor for Rely-Ex until he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in May 2014. Ron was a hard worker, always putting the needs of others first and willingly offering a helping hand to family and friends. He was a faithful member at Redeemer Lutheran Church and will be sadly missed, especially by the maintenance committee, aka, "The Boys Club". Ron loved downhill skiing, water skiing, working and relaxing at the family cabin at Wakaw Lake, and watching his girls or nieces and nephews in their many sports, always with a word of encouragement. He was a loyal Roughriders and Blue Jays fan. He enjoyed coaching with the Hustlers softball club and recently returned to playing slow pitch. He was a skilled carpenter; he built homes for his family, numerous building projects, and several pieces of furniture, which will be cherished by his girls. Ron always had many projects on his "to do" list and his hands were seldom idle. We miss him more than words can express, but we will hold him close in our hearts forever. A Celebration of Ron's Life will be held on Friday, July 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 812 Preston Avenue in Saskatoon, with Pastor George Hind officiating. Cremation with Interment to take place at a later date. The Sielski family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at RUH and everyone who visited, brought food and sent condolences. Gifts and flowers are gratefully declined. Instead, those who choose may honor Ron by making a donation to Redeemer Lutheran Church or The Canadian Cancer Society. Ron was a faithful blood donor and would encourage others to do the same. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Mourning Glory Funeral Services.
