It is with deep regret the family of Lorraine Elizabeth Giles (nee Sarada) announce her passing on August 1, 2014 after a two year battle with cancer. Lorraine is survived by her husband, Bob; daughter, Deborah (Steve) Jeffers from Prince Albert, grandchildren, Teegan and Myles, and daughter, Heather (Kyle) West from Saskatoon, grandchildren, Connor and Makinley; one sister, Agnes (Mark) Porter; two brothers, James and Richard (Peggy) Sarada; sister-in-law, Lena Sarada; sister-in-law, Dorothy (Richard) Hazel; brother-in-law, Roy (Marjorie) Giles; several nieces and nephews, as well as many other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Mary (Skilnick) and Fritz Sarada; sister, Lillian; brother, Bill; mother-in-law, Olive Giles. Lorraine was born in Yorkton, SK and grew up on the family farm. She then moved to Saskatoon, North Battleford and Regina working in various medical fields. It was in Regina where she met Bob. They married in 1962 and shared 52 wonderful years together. Lorraine enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her two beautiful girls. She enjoyed cooking, crafts and entertaining. She would generously share her creations with family and friends. One of her loves was golfing which she took pleasure in with Bob and her golfing buddies. Lorraine was always thinking of others. She was fun loving and outgoing. She will be greatly missed. She has given us the gift of many fond memories. We are celebrating Lorraine's life at the Saskatoon Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, MS Society or a charity of your choice. We extend a special thank you to Dr. Mary Terepa, the Palliative Home Care team who supported us through Lorraine's final days, as well as the Cancer Clinic oncologists and nurses. Arrangements entrusted to the Saskatoon Funeral Home, 338 4th Ave North, Saskatoon, SK. (306) 244-5577.
