Robert Burwell

BURWELL - Robert O. (Bob) passed peacefully at Saskatoon City Hospital Oct.19,2007 at the age of 95. He is survived by a daughter, Jean (Neil) Millard of Asquith; a son, Tom (Betty) of Saskatoon; and a sister, Alice White of Penticton, BC; grandchildren, Ken (Rose) Millard of Vancouver, Shayne (Shalene) Burwell of Saskatoon, Jennet (Patrick) Wilson of Moose Jaw, Patrick Burwell of Toronto, Susan(Jon) Hall of Edmonton and Robert Millard of Calgary; great grandchildren, Avery, Gavin, Jacqueline, Nicholas, Maclaren, Ridley and Spencer. He was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie (nee Mather) in 1999; daughter, Judy in 1971; three sisters, Lily Sloan, Margaret Stack, and Bessie Lenzi. Bob was born on a farm near Asquith February 21, 1912 and operated that farm until 1995. He and Marjorie were married in 1938 and lived on the farm until 1972 when they moved to Asquith. Throughout his life Bob took a very strong interest in community activities including school board, RM and town Councils, church boards, local business endeavours, community sports facilities, park development and many outdoor activities. After a stroke in 2003 Bob resided at Villa Royale special care home. The family extends sincere thanks to the management and staff for the excellent care provided. A Celebration of Bob's life will be held on Saturday, November 3rd at Asquith United Church at 2:30 p.m. with Rev Joan Brown officiating.
