Oliver Cruder February 28, 1950 ~ December 14, 2010 Oliver passed away at Royal University Hospital on Monday, December 14, 2010 at the age of 60 years. A Memorial Service will be held at St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church, 1202 Ave O S. Saskatoon on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Oliver was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and moved to Saskatoon at the age of 15. He received his M.Sc. Electrical Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan. Father, brother, husband, step-father and grandfather, electrical engineer, entrepreneur, author, thinker, mentor, fisherman and wannabe golfer, he is survived by his wife Joanne Henke; three children Alex, Kevin and Carolene (John Thorpe), two step-children Amanda Osicki (Randal), Hailey Penny (Tyler); and sister Erica Ellenwood (Richard). Oliver was predeceased by his parents Edgar and Yolanda Cruder. (Modified excerpt from the jacket of his book, Like A Worm On A String). Oliver led a life of exploration and learning. As an entrepreneur, he founded three high tech companies, owned a small oil company, two junior mining companies, and was a partner in a boutique mergers and acquisitions firm. He was awarded several patents while perusing his passion for innovation. He believed in people and in the power of imagination and faith. He enjoyed tackling the impossible and was on a constant search for beauty and elegance of simplicity. As a legacy to his children, Oliver authored and self published his book Like A Worm On A String.
